Modernist Restoration
Restoration of a 1960s modernist home by Norman Starrett in Chislehurst
Modernist Restoration
Enrica and Nigel loved their stylish early ‘60s family home - designed by renowned modernist architect Norman Starrett to be his own home - but it could be cold and draughty, and half a century on was feeling worn out. They engaged Charles Barclay Architects to sympathetically update the house to the highest contemporary standards, add more space and connect better to the spacious secluded garden. The amazing results were featured in House and Garden magazine.
Complete renovation of an early 1960s detached modernist home, bringing it up to the highest modern standards of amenity, comfort and insulation, while retaining many original features. Extending the building to create a garage, office, storage spaces and rear terraces.
