Overview
This grand 1880s Blackheath house needed complete refurbishment and landscaping for two large gardens.
BDL carried out all the hard landscaping to Jane Holtham’s thoughtful garden design and worked alongside George & James Architects on the striking black-clad garden room.
Resulting in a space that’s both beautiful and deeply considered.
Spec. of Build
Locally-listed, the house was sensitively brought into the 21st Century while maintaining and refurbishing many original features, such as the mullion windows and oak panelling.
With the exception of protected mature trees, the gardens were completely re-imagined, creating a number of distinct zones including terrace, garden room, kitchen garden, Japanese garden, herbaceous borders, pond and lawn – all working together to create a relaxed and subtle palette with year-round interest.
