Complete basement renovation with underfloor heating and pluck kitchen

This family, recommended to us by their neighbour, were spending a lot of time in their basement kitchen-family room, but it was a little frayed around the edges and sometimes damp and uninviting. Our in-house design team learned how the family liked to use the space, then worked closely with Pluck to design a kitchen around their needs.

A couple of key structural changes enabled a utility room to fit alongside and gave a more spacious feel to the dining area by raising steel beams out of site above the ceiling. We upgraded the windows while maintaining their period appearance. Finally, our design team sourced flooring, furniture, fabrics and paints to complete the picture.  

Strip out basement back to earth and brick, lay new insulated floor with underfloor heating, reconfigure openings, while raising supporting beams above the ceiling. Remedy damp walls with breathable materials, replacement doors and windows, full interior design service.
